On November 13, 2013, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (“PUCO”) rendered its decision on AEP Ohio’s application to establish a competitive bidding process (“CBP”) for the procurement of energy to support its standard service offer (Case No. 12-3254-EL-UNC). Consistent with the PUCO’s Opinion and Order, the first auction under AEP Ohio’s CBP will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. This auction will procure 10% of the hourly energy requirements of AEP Ohio’s SSO customers for a 14-month period starting April 1, 2014.

Two document postings are expected next week:
- December 2: Alternate Guaranty Process documents. This process is intended for potential bidders that cannot use the standard form of Guaranty. This process is entirely optional. The deadline for such potential bidders to submit materials for AEP Ohio’s consideration will be December 5, 2013.
- December 5: Main Auction documents. The posting will include the CBP Rules and the Master Energy Supply Agreement (“MESA”).
