Who can participate in a Trial Auction? When is the Trial Auction scheduled for the November 2019 Auction?
Qualified Bidders that successfully complete the Part 2 Application become Registered Bidders and receive a Part 2 Notification. With the Part 2 Notification, Registered Bidders receive an invitation to participate in a Trial Auction as well as login credentials for the Trial Auction. For the November 2019 Auction, as indicated in the Auction Timeline, bidders can expect to receive the Part 2 Notification no later than October 29. The Trial Auction is scheduled for October 30, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM.

FAQ-187:
When is the Trial Auction scheduled to occur? Is it possible to participate in an alternate session to the one that is currently scheduled?
The trial auction for Registered Bidders is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 1:30PM EPT through 3:30PM EPT. The trial auction is the only opportunity for Registered Bidders to practice submitting bids through the Auction Software as well as to practice submitting a backup bid. Training is not made available to any single individual bidder at an alternative time. However, all bidders receive the Bidder User Material that contains a Software Manual and instructions for backup bidding.Please note that if the Authorized Representative and the Nominees are unavailable to participate in the trial auction, another individual authorized to do so by the Authorized Representative may participate in the trial auction instead. Furthermore, if a bidder can participate in only some but not all of the rounds, such bidder may advise the Auction Manager prior to the trial auction and such partial participation can be accommodated.

Can you please provide the timeline / schedule for auction day? When will it begin?
The March auction is scheduled to occur on March 6, 2018. Login time is expected to be 8:15 AM EPT and the first round of bidding is expected to begin at 8:45 AM EPT. Bidding rounds are typically 25 minutes in length (including bidding, calculating, and reporting phases). Please note that these schedule parameters are subject to change and that a schedule for the auction will be provided in the Part 2 Notification for Registered Bidders.

The Ohio Power Company does not serve SSO Load. The November 2017 and March 2018 Auctions together seek to procure supply for 100% of the needs of AEP Ohio’s SSO customers with delivery beginning June 1, 2018.

FAQ-174:
What is the case number to find the auction results under current AEP Ohio’s CBP?
On November 20, 2017, Case No. 17-2391-EL-UNC was opened. The case is called “In the Matter of the Procurement of Standard Service Offer Generation for Customers of Ohio Power Company”. The results of the November auction under AEP Ohio’s CBP were filed in that docket. The Commission may open new dockets for tracking of auction results from time to time.

We have provided indicative information on slide 7 of the October 5th webcast presentation: click here. This information is subject to change. At this time, the AEP Ohio’s amended ESP III petition under Case No. 16-1852-EL-SSO is pending PUCO approval. Pursuant to the PUCO Order dated September 27, 2017 (click here), AEP Ohio is authorized to conduct an auction for a 12-month, 24-month and 36-month supply term in November 2017 only.

The March 2017 auction was the final auction in a series of six auctions as approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (“PUCO”) in Case no. 13-2385-EL-SSO for ESP III. AEP Ohio filed a petition to amend its Electric Security Plan by extending its ESP III (the “ESP III extension”). The PUCO has not yet rendered a decision on AEP Ohio’s petition, which is Case No. 16-1852-EL-SSO. The docket can be accessed via the PUCO’s Docketing Information System at https://dis.puc.state.oh.us/.As such, the schedule for future auctions is not available at this time. Yes, you are correct that the upcoming March 2017 auction is the final auction in a series of six auctions as approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (“PUCO”) in Case no. 13-2385-EL-SSO for ESP III.AEP Ohio has recently filed a petition to amend its Electric Security Plan by extending its ESP III (the “ESP III extension”). In this petition, AEP Ohio proposes, among other items, to apply the credit-based tranche cap to each auction separately instead of cumulatively across all auctions under ESP III.
